The Price of Missing An Easy Sunday

Part of our mission here at Market Ease Business Promotions is to give back to the communities that have given us so much. One way we’ve set out to do that, is to spend a day of every month to donate our time and resources for those who are less fortunate.

It has been a tradition if not a habit for us, Market Ease (ME) members to do the monthly Give Love Back Program (GLBP) to the community. It is ME’s way of giving and sharing back to the community the blessings that we have been receiving both in our personal and professional life.

Month after month, our team spearheads charity events and reach out to different towns or places or organizations. These include Kids Day Out with Children with Cancer, Giving out of School supplies, medical missions, tree planting activities and feeding the homeless, just to name a few. Just like Aesop, ME team believes too that no act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted. Hence, we are always ready to be where the action is, ready to share our time, love, talents and resources in the least and best way that we could.

As the month of March ushered in, we learned about the Bayani Challenge (Heroes Challenge) of Gawad Kalinga. Gawad Kalinga, or GK, is a group that builds communities to end poverty. Their mission is to end poverty for 5 million families by 2024, land for the landless, homes for the homeless and food for the hungry. We accepted the call for Bayani Challenge wholeheartedly. All of us were too excited to help build schools and houses despite of the scorching summer heat. Come hell or high water, we are so ready to get the building started. We spent our Sunday with GK family and other volunteers who heed the challenge of the 5 days camp held in New Lucena, Iloilo.

We opted to do school build, where in we were asks to paint and do school rehabilitation. Scrubbing walls, sweeping and cleaning the classroom and schools were few of the highlights that we did before we were asked to paint and beautify the schools. It was a beautiful day of volunteerism, love and laughter amidst the summer heat.

We went home beaming with pride and happiness knowing that we may not have had an easy Sunday, yet the hope and help that we’ve shared for others, especially the people of New Lucena, is and will always be priceless. We did not only help build houses or schools, we helped build hope and lives for others, we we’re there to assist them during their fresh start.

Our adventures and journey on volunteerism and charity work continue. This is just one of the many facets of selfless love that our team, Market Ease will continue to embrace. Soon, more pages will be turned, more people will be helped out and inspired, more lives will be touched, more hope and love will blossom.

Forever, we will continue to rage, rage and keep that dying light. A light of Hope, Love and kindness. An ME light.
